Course Description

The way you arrange your classroom can make a big difference. This workshop looks at the powerful messages that environments send to people and ways to set up your classroom that are inviting and safe for infants and toddlers, as well as welcoming to families and staff. Feeding, diapering, handwashing, napping—all of these make up a great deal of an infant or toddler’s day! Join us as we discuss ways to use routines as a time for learning and bonding in a manner that is safe and healthy for both children and caregivers. This online asynchronous PACE workshop is offered on the UH System Laulima platform. After registering you will receive an email within five working days with a link to Laulima where you will need to create an account, if you do not already have one.  An email address is required. You have one week to complete the workshop and must score 70% or better on the assessment for this workshop to use it towards credit of ECED 170 Introduction to Working with Infants and Toddlers. All twelve 170 Asynchronous workshops or the equivalent PATCH workshops must be completed to convert this course to three college credits. The workshops are not available over the winter break December 12, 2022 to January 2, 2023. Contact the PACE Program office, 808-845-9496, pacehon@hawaii.edu, for more information.
