Course Description

Kapi`olani Community College will provide a unique 1-day culinary arts program for the Yokosuka College of Culinary & Pastry Art. The students will learn traditional food and lifestyle of Hawaiian people and hands-on cooking of Hawaiian dishes. This cultural and cooking hands-on workshop will help Yokosuka students extend their horizons and prepare themselves to work as chef with international perspectives.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the program, the students will be able to:

Define the characteristics of food material and Hawaiian cuisine
Prepare one item in Hawaiian cuisine
Compare their cuisine learned at school in Japan and that of Hawai`i
