Course Description

Preventing cyber criminals from hacking health information systems in order to steal healthcare data has greatly increased the role of all health care team members in protecting patient information. Health professionals MUST know about cyber security. It is no longer optional! Doctors, nurses, therapists, health record technicians, and other health professionals need to aware of the basics of cyber security. In addition, health professional educators need to know what information about cyber security should be included in their courses, along with learner friendly effective ways to present that information. This workshop will discuss what content should be part of a healthcare curriculum and how it can be embedded in healthcare courses.
