Course Description

This 8-week, intensive, hands-on program serves as a direct pathway to becoming a carpenter and/or construction worker with the Naiwa Homesteader Builder Project with non-profit organization Molokai Affordable Housing Alliance Program. Training features in-person instruction and culminates with workforce transitional services into internship, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities with Molokai Affordable Housing Alliance (MAHA) and other relevant employers on the island of Molokai.

Course Outline

This 8-week, intensive, hands-on program through Makaha Learning Center serves as a direct pathway to becoming a carpenter and/or construction worker within the Naiwa Homestead Agricultural Subdivision projects and/or other state-wide projects.

Prerequisites

Naiwa Agricultural Subdivision Homestead lessee or family member. Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with zoom, access to an electronic device, Access to adequate internet connection, access to ground transportation for the 1 week in-person hands on portion of the training.
