Course Description

This course covers Myofascial Release treatments of common soft tissue pathologies along with learning advanced knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology as it relates to massage therapy practice. Clinical assessments with Myofascial Release treatment applications and review of related medical terminology will be incorporated throughout the course.

Learner Outcomes

1. Demonstrate various clinical assessment protocols for soft tissue.
2. Demonstrate the various appropriate myofascial techniques and protocol for pathology.
3. Describe the cause-and-effect relationship of common musculoskeletal pathologies as it relates to massage therapy.

Prerequisites

Prerequisite: Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) or previous coursework in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology required. (Or successful completion of KCC’s Your Body and Your Health 1, 2, 3, and 4.
