Course Description

60 hour course designed to meet the needs of AEMT transition course set forth by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). First 2 weeks are the classroom lectures (60 hours), last week is off site with skills instructor (30 hours).

Learner Outcomes

  1. Successfully complete the psychomotor skills: IV Bolus medication, patient assessment/management of medical case, airway ventilation and oxygenation of an infant/child in respiratory distress/failure, cardiac arrest management/AED, pediatric intraosseous infusion.
  2. Understand the needs of a patient undergoing a medical or traumatic injury and the appropriate AEMT level care to provide.
  3. Prepare for the NREMT AEMT cognitive exam.

Must have current and valid NREMT I/85 certification. Successful completion of online Fisdap course for AEMT transition.
