Course Description

RITE:The Professional Sales Associate will explore the skills and abilities most important to a successful retail career. Valuable presentation skills will help you present yourself for success. Learn verbal and non-verbal communication skills as well as active listening techniques and an easy problem solving method.

Learner Outcomes

  • List at least four different types of retailing
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the career opportunities in retail and describe at least five careers
  • Be able to describe the difference between base and incentive compensation methods
  • List five skills and abilities most commonly listed as important to the success of a sales associate
  • Identify individual personal strengths
  • Identify critical elements when presenting oneself on a job application and interview
  • Explain the role of effective communication
  • Recognize the Dos and Don'ts in telephone communication
  • Demonstrate Active Listening Techniques and problem solving through role play
