Course Description

Title: Introduction to the Enneagram

Description: We all understand that people are different, but we may not understand how they are different. We might be somewhat mystified that everyone does not see life the way we do. Why is it that one person’s way of dealing with life is so different from another’s? Why is it that a way of being that is natural and easy for one person is so difficult for another?

This class will provide an introduction to a way of understanding different personality types based on the structure of the Enneagram.  It will include a brief history of the Enneagram as it has been used to analyze personality structure and an overview of the nine personality types with each type’s three subtypes. It will also cover type dynamics, how each type can manifest as seemingly very different types at times.

Through an understanding of the different personality types, we can gain both understanding and compassion for ourselves, and understanding and compassion for others.
