Course Description

If you’ve ever been to a Persian family dinner, you know they really serve it up – crispy saffron rice, rich spiced stews, and lots of side dishes. Amin, being a good host, wants to teach you how to make a great meal (with the time he has). So, for this class, Amin will teach you how to make the classic tadik (Persian saffron rice with a crispy bottom), khoresh fesenjan (traditional braised chicken flavored with pomegranate syrup and ground walnuts), seeb zamini (Persian potato pancakes), and, time allowing, Amin will do a demonstration of mast-o kheyar, a refreshing cucumber yogurt dip.

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style healthy dishes.
