Course Description

Now that you've completed the required courses, and understand how to work with High Voltage equipment, get ready to explore a different system in the Hybrid and Electric Vehicle.
Imagine at a stop, the hybrid internal combustion engine shuts off, yet the air conditioning system is working in almost near silence! So what keeps the compressor spinning allowing refrigerant of the A/C system to circulate? The answer to that question and others related to the air conditioning system in the Hybrid and EV can be found in this course. Topics include basic theory of air conditioning, a/c components description and operation, and safe handling of air conditioning refrigerants.
Laboratory instruction involves troubleshooting problems initiated by the instructor on a variety of diagnostic equipment.
