CULN3025 - Community Garden
Course Description
Our Hawaiian culture is deeply rooted in the ‘Aina (land). This community-based course will incorporate Hawaiian plants used for medicinal, eatable and plants for making things. The three garden plots will be maintained by student and community volunteers, on the campus of CIPLearner Outcomes
Students will learn the importance of the three theme plots and their position in Hawaiian society. Included will be real comprehension of the Hawaiian language as it relates to the vegetation. Most importantly all students will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the theme plots during the duration of the class.Notes

Dress code: As a safety precaution, participants in all culinary classes are encouraged to wear covered, non-slip shoes (e.g. tennis shoes) and comfortable long pants. Aprons or any other personal items may also be brought to class. The college, however, will not be held responsible, if such items are lost or stolen.
