Course Description

GMPs are mandated in all food processing facilities by Federal legislation, and it is critical that processors follow these basic instructions for making a safe, sanitary product. This course offers instruction for following GMPs along with best practices for employee hygiene, environmental sanitation, and product storage and handling. It meets the general training requirements per FDA and USDA regulations for all employees at all levels within a company.

Learner Outcomes

Course SLO 1: Gain an understanding of how to implement a policy for Good Manufacturing Practices within a food business, and how to
train employees on an ongoing basis.

Course SLO 2: Gain an understanding of the elements of Good Manufacturing  Practices and how these are critical to minimizing the potential for foodborne  disease to the public.

Course SLO 3: Review an actual policy in Good Manufacturing Practices that serves  as a best practice tool that can be adapted to an individual food establishment.
