The Kaiaulu Webinar Series proudly presents the first in a series of 75th Anniversary webinars. The first webinar is Celebrating our 75th Anniversary: The History of Kapi`olani Community College, which will be presented, on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

One year after the official end of World War II, the Territory of Hawai`i was on the cusp of the post-war era. At the time, people hoped for better jobs and lives than they had before the war. Some notable events that happened in 1946 were: the great Sugar Strike in Hawai`i; the Baby Boomer generation began; the tidal wave struck Hawai`i that was caused by an earthquake near the Aleutian Islands; and Kapi`olani Technical School offered its first Hotel and Restaurant Operations class. Thereafter, in 1947, Kapi`olani Technical School offered its first Practical Nursing Program. These fledgling programs marked the beginning of Kapi`olani CC`s 75 year history.

Speakers:

 - Dr. Louise Pagotto (Ph.D), Chancellor of Kapi`olani Community College (2018 to present)

 - Dr. John Morton (Ph.D), Former Chancellor of Kapi`olani Community College (1984 to 2005)
