Course Description

This Online English and Culture program is designed to develop English speaking proficiency of the students.  While learning basic speaking skills including pronunciation, intonation, tone, speed, facial express, students will expand cultural awareness as well through knowing Hawai`i. The students will gain confidence in speaking in prepare them for starting their teacher?s training at elementary schools in Japan to become teachers with international perspectives.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the program, the students will be able to:

1).  Define what makes speech effective and agreeable for the audience.

2).  Demonstrate improvement on English pronunciation.

3).  Demonstrate a presentation about one cultural topic which the student selected based on their interest.
