Course Description

The Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement (CNHA), in partnership with the County of Kaua?i, Kaua?i Police Department, and Kaua?i Community College’s Office of Continuing Education and Training, is accepting applications for its Hawaiian Trades Academy Kaua?i Police Program.

The program prepares students seeking a career as a police services officer on Kaua?i. The program includes training and instruction to help students:

Learn information about the County of Kaua?i application process
  • Develop skills, critical thinking tools, and techniques to better prepare to meet the requirements of the Kaua?i Police Department’s hiring and selection process for police services officer

    • Includes prep for written exam, pre-offer testing & background investigation, and post-offer testing processes

  • Gain first-hand knowledge and mentoring from active and retired KPD team members

CNHA supports learning opportunities for career pathways. 18 years and older may apply for this program. (Note: Minimum age to apply for KPD police services officer is 20 years and older).

 Distance learning may be available to Kaua?i and O?ahu residents only (as police exams are specific to county). Offer for distance learning is subject to change based on enrollment.
