TRAN6200 - Commercial Motor Vehicle Driver License Prep Course (CDL)
Course Description
Commercial drivers license prep course covers pre/post trip inspections, and CDL simulator training system to learn control systems, basic vehicle operations, safe operator practices, driving in extreme conditions, handling & securing cargo, accident procedures, and road skills practice.
Participants interested in the Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Training Program without permit prep must submit to the office the following items:
- A valid State of Hawaii Class 3/ Passenger Vehicle Drivers License
- A valid State of Hawaii CDL Type A License Permit
- Hawaii Driver History Record
- A Medical Examiners Report Form and A Medical Examiner's Certificate conducted by a licensed medical examiner.

Course Outline
*FOR MOLOKAI STUDENTS* Commercial drivers license prep course prepares students for the state licensing exam including pre/post trip inspections and behind-the-wheel training to learn control systems, basic vehicle operations, safe operator practices, driving in extreme conditions, handling & securing cargo, accident procedures, and road skills practice.Prerequisites
Must have or be able to obtain Class A or B permit and clear DOT medical exam by first day of instruction.
Required materials: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations Pocketbook (provided in class)
