Course Description
By administering EKGs, testing the electrical activity of the heart, you'll be making a life-changing difference, helping people of all ages prevent and treat heart disease. As an EKG tech, you may perform the following tasks: Set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests,
prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring, and transcribe physicians' interpretations.

As an EKG tech, you may perform the following tasks: Set up and administer EKGs (electrocardiograms) and stress tests, prepare patients for Holter or ambulatory monitoring, and transcribe physicians' interpretations.Prerequisites
1. Copy of your photo ID.
2. Current Criminal Abstract (https://ecrim.ehawaii.gov) (abstract needs to be submitted within 30 days of issuance).
3. Completed UH Maui College health clearance form.
4. TB clearance in the last year.
5. Proof of MMR vaccination (titer is acceptable).
6. Proof of Hep B series vaccination (titer is acceptable).
7. Proof of COVID vaccination.
8. Proof of a 9th-grade English level or higher. (e.g. high school transcript or college transcript or degree, TABE results, etc.).
9. Patient care experience in telemetry, EKG, or CNA recommended.
