Course Description

This non-credit section of College Chorus provides an inclusive environment for community members and non-students to develop choral singing skills. The eight-week course covers fundamental vocal techniques, basic music theory, and ensemble performance, and is open to singers of all levels. The session concludes with a group performance.

Course Outline

Objectives:

  • Learn vocal technique, music theory, and sight-reading
  • Develop ensemble skills and foster collaboration through rehearsals

Topics:

  • Warm-ups, pitch, tone, rhythm, notation, ensemble singing

Assessment:

  • Participation and final group performance
