Course Description

Ages 12 to 17 and Kapi'olani CC Students.

An introductory class that teaches the fundamentals of Taiko drumming (In Japanese), including proper grip, stance, form, and simple practice pieces.

You will learn the following:

Basics of Taiko musicality
Japanese culture and music appreciation
Social Engagement

Notes

No class on September 29, 2024. Required supplies: Drumsticks (available for purchase on 1st day of class) Teen Drumsticks: $28, $30, $32 (size and wood variation) Adult Drumsticks: $30, $32 (size and wood variation) Earplugs: $3 (optional)
