Course Description

FEEL the VIBRATIONS! Taiko resonates deeply within the body, making it an ideal musical instrument for the Deaf Community to experience.

Learner Outcomes

You will learn the following:

  • Basics of Taiko musicality
  • Repetoire
  • Mind/body coordination
  • Large motor skills
  • Japanese culture and music appreciation
  • Performance opportunities
  • Social engagement

 

Notes

For:  Teens (ages 12-17) and Kapi'olani CC Students 

NO CLASS ON OCTOBER 1, 2024

Required Supplies:  Drumsticks (available on the 1st day of class) Teen and Kapi'olani CC Students Drumsticks:  $28, $30, $32 (size and wood variation).  Earplugs:  $3 (optional)
