Course Description

Explore opportunities in the field of pet grooming. Learn about the most common dog breeds and their coat types, how to properly handle dogs, basic health care of dogs, preparation for grooming, bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, and hand scissoring. Discuss the basic equipment needed, proper communication skills with clients, and how professional pet groomers professionally conduct themselves. Study grooming procedures for poodles, head to tail. You’ll explore the lamb clip, and how to combine your clipper technique with your scissors technique; the Bichon Frise haircut and the Teddy bear cut. Learn about the business description and how to start a dog grooming business step by step. Certification in infection control and bloodborne pathogen control.
