Course Description

Effective July 1, 1995, all electricians in categories EJ, EJI, EJS, ES, ESI, and ESS (Maintenance Electricians – EM category are exempt from this requirement) will need to complete a continued competency requirement and pay the applicable fees in order to renew their license. The deadline to renew your license is June 30, 2026. Failure to renew your license by paying the applicable fee and meeting the continued competency requirement (attending the continued competency course) shall constitute a forfeiture of the license effective July 1, 2026. A forfeited license does not allow you to perform electrical work. You have one year from June 30, 2026 to restore your license. If you fail to restore your license by June 30, 2027, you will need to reapply as a new applicant. For information on the renewal process, call the Licensing Branch of the Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs at 808-586-3000, or visit: https://cca.hawaii.gov/pvl/boards/electrician/ for information on meeting continued competency requirements. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR 2023 NATIONAL ELECTRICIANS CODE BOOK WHICH IS REQUIRED FOR THE CLASS. A PICTURE ID & YOUR ELECTRICIANS LICENSE WILL BE NEEDED FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES AS WELL.
