Course Description:

Learn to sew knit fabrics. Eighty percent of what we wear today is made with knit fabrics, commonly known as stretchy fabrics, such as jersey t-shirts, yoga wear, and swimwear.

Learner Outcomes

LEARNER OUTCOMES-- 

Students will be able to: 

●      Understand terminology specific to knit fabrics.

●      Understand the difference between knit and woven fabrics.

●      Select and apply garment construction techniques using equipment appropriate for various types of knit fabrics.

●      Select and apply sewing notions and trims appropriate for various types of knit fabrics.

●      Construct garments using a variety of different knit fabrics. 

Students must have taken Beginner’s Sewing Level 1 and Level 2, or have basic knowledge of operating the home sewing machine. They must know how to sew a garment from a commercial pattern.

The instructor will email the required supply list to students 1-2 weeks before the start of class.
