Course Description

Server+ training prepares you to work in data centers or cloud environments administering any type of network server because of its vendor-neutral approach. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to perform the duties of a server administrator.

In this course, you will:

  • Continue working with Linux Server and Linux Operating Systems
  • Manage server hardware
  • Install server hardware and operating systems
  • Configure networking hardware and protocols
  • Perform basic server configuration tasks
  • Create a virtual server environment
  • Administer servers.
  • Implement server storage solutions.

  • Plan and test disaster recovery
  • Troubleshoot server issues

This course can benefit you when you are preparing to take the CompTIA Server+ examination (Exam SK0-004).

This course also covers the Microsoft Windows Server 70-410 certification exam objectives and focuses on the skills you need to install and configure Windows Server 2012/R2. After you finish this course, you’ll have an in-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2012/R2, including installation, local and remote management, file and storage services, Active Directory, group policies, TCP/IP, networking services, and Hyper-V virtualization. Both the original release of Windows Server 2012 and the R2 release are covered.

Certification exams are not included in this course.

Required preparation: Must have access to a computer with Windows as well as Internet access outside of class to complete assignments

Recommended preparation: Knowledge and experience with Linux, Network+ certification or equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
