Course Description

This course prepares for the CompTIA Network+ Certification Exam. Candidates passing the CompTIA Network+ exam will help to further their career in IT infrastructure including troubleshooting, configuring, and managing networks. Becoming Network+ certified is a gateway to other in-demand IT credentials and towards a career in networking or telecommunications. Topics covered in the course includes: design and implement functional networks, configure, manage, and maintain essential network devices, use devices such as switches and routers to segment network traffic and create resilient networks, identify benefits and drawbacks of existing network configurations, implement network security, standards, and protocols, troubleshoot network problems and support the creation of virtualized networks.

Students who successfully complete the course will be provided with an exam voucher.

Course Outline

Network+ prepares you for a career in IT infrastructure. Knowing how to install, configure, operate, manage, maintain, and troubleshoot a computer network is a highly marketable and exciting skill. This course prepares you for the CompTIA Network+ certification. Although test prep for the certification exams is covered in class, additional study is needed.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

  1. Research topics related to the designated certification
  2. Identify key subjects, relevant data, and propose possible solutions
  3. Review and recall materials related to the certification topic
  4. Demonstrate competence and proficiency in certification areas

Prerequisites

1. Successfully pass the CompTIA A+ certification exam or equivalent knowledge and experience.

2. Network-related IT experience is helpful.
