Course Description

Networking is at the heart of the digital transformation. Although often unseen, it enables us to stay connected as we move around freely using our laptop or smartphone. This course teaches the basic networking concepts and the skills that you can put to use right away. Its underlying principles can help you set-up a SOHO (small-office/home-office) network or even put you on the path to managing a larger-scale business network. This course is often taken for those on the path to becoming a network technician, cable installer or help desk technician.

This course will prepare you for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.

Networking Essentials will provide you with the following core skills:

  • How to plan and install a network using real equipment
  • Practice verifying and troubleshooting network and internet connectivity
  • Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer
  • Configure common Internet applications, basic IP services, and set up sharing between computers

 

Prep: IT Essentials or A+ certification or equivalent knowledge is helpful along and/or network-related IT experience.
