Course Description

Librarians play multiple roles in serving the informational needs of their patrons. Increasingly, patrons come with varied requests for assistance in the area of digital literacy. This course provides materials, PowerPoint slides, lab exercises, and resources to support librarians who work with patrons seeking digital assistance. The focus of these materials is on basic skills and needs such as familiarity with a computer/netbook and mouse, doing online searches, using social media, and other topics.

Learner Outcomes

At the end of the course, Librarians will be able to use the curriculum in ways that meet their individual library needs and will be able to share these resources with other Librarians so they can sustain their on-going development to assist their patrons.
