Course Description

Learn to Cook Okinawan dishes from Chef Grant Sato!  Pigs Feet Soup, Goya Tempura with sweet miso glaze, and kabocha pumpkin.

Learner Outcomes

After completion, students will be able to:

  • Cook Okinawan dishes such as pigs feet soup, simmered Kabocha pumpkin, and Goya Tempura
  • Identify tools and equipment and proper food handling

Notes

As a safety precaution, participants in all culinary classes are required to wear covered, non-slip shoes (e.g., athletic shoes) and comfortable long pants. Aprons or any other personal items may also be brought to class. The college will not be held responsible if such items are lost or stolen.

Drop/Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend class, please contact the Noncredit Registration office at (808) 734-9211 or email kccocet@hawaii.edu. The Noncredit Registration Office is available to assist you, Monday to Friday, from 8:00am to 4:30pm. Closed on weekends, state and the majority of federal holidays. Listed below is the refund schedule.  

  • 100% Refund: 10 business days prior to the 1st day of instruction.
  • 50% Refund: 5-9 business days prior to the 1st day of instruction.
  • 0% Refund: Less than 5 business days prior to the 1st day of instruction.
