Course Description

This course is specially designed for students of Otemae HIgh School, partner school with KapCC.  The students are considering to apply to KapCC credit courses in the future.  This course introduces important connection to the land, history, culture of Hawaii, and emphasize the advantage of studying at KapCC to pursue their college degrees, in a safe and caring campus envrionment.  Campus tour will be included.  

Learner Outcomes

At the end of the program, students will be able to describe some characteristics of Hawaiian culture; students will be able to explain a few examples of Hawaiian values and meaning to the students. 

Notes

This program was requested by Otemae HIgh School as a part of the student's trip to Hawaii.  For the students who consider KapCC to study abroad, this program will be able to emphasize the value of studying at KapCC and encourage students to apply to KapCC.  To see and experience campus environment for themselves, the students will have clearer idea of studying at KapCC.
