Course Description

Introduces the fundamentals of advancing manufacturing including prototype design, additive and subtractive manufacturing using 3-D printing and CNC machines, and an applied project using Rhino 3D software. Participants will also attain OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR safety certifications, and complete a 2 week paid internship with a local company to gain exposure to advanced manufacturing projects.

Course Outline

Learner Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate understanding of the fundamental concepts and techniques needed to develop products in advanced manufacturing.
  2. Identify the different tools and equipment used in advanced manufacturing.
  3. Attain OSHA 10 and First Aid/ CPR certifications.
  4. Learn the techniques needed to design prototypes for advanced manufacturing projects.
