This is a traditional classroom course. All parts of the course are done at Windward Community College. This class is for any person needing initial certification of AHA Healthcare Provider. BLS is a pre-requisite for ACLS. In most cases, this course satisfies the required CPR Certification for Healthcare Facilities, Clinics, Hospitals, Nursing Schools, Medical Residencies and EMT Schools. Generally intended for pysicians, nurses, rad. techs, nursing, med students, dentists, pharmacists, anyone needing certification for Jobs in the Healthcare field.

Class will cover:
Key changes in basic life support, reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
CPR with an advanced airway*
Critical concepts of high-quality CPR
Differences between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
Relief of choking for adult, child and infant
Rescue breathing for adult, child and infant
The American Heart Association Chain of Survival
