Course Description

Community Studio: Photo lab

Community Studio is a non-instructional summer program for photographers with previous darkroom experience only. The studio’s goal is to build Hawai‘i’s creative analog photography community by providing a shared workspace to student and non-professional photographers for developing their images, their craft, and their artistic confidence.

INTRODUCTORY SPECIAL
$110 per 4-week section. No lab fee. (equals less than $3/available hour)

Bring your toolkit and printing supplies: film, paper, etc. (see link below). All basic chemistry and equipment provided.

Participants may drop-in during any or all of the scheduled open lab hours to use the photo lab facilities, no reservation times required, and you can work on whatever you’d like to focus on during these sessions.

Studio Orientation
Program members must participate in an initial Studio Orientation on the first day of their first session to cover general information and policies about space use and equipment. This is not an instructional orientation/program; users must be familiar with general darkroom workflow and capable of working fairly independently in order to sign up. Our lab managers will be present to assist you accordingly.
