Course Description

Introduces students to the experience of aging and the issues affecting the elderly. Examines aging from developmental and person-in-environment perspectives. Identifies the social service needs of the elderly, local and federal programs, and implications for the "soon-to-be elderly." This course helps you meet the requirements for a Certificate of Competence in Aging.

Course Outline

In this course, you will: Learn about biological, psychological, and social aspects of aging; Prepare to make the most of your own later years; Consider the many roles human service workers play in supporting older adults; and Explore the local services available here in Maui for those "65 and better!"
