Course Description

The Nurse Residency program includes the critical components needed for organizations to design a residency that addresses the challenges faced by newly licensed registered nurses as they make the transition to professional practice. Building a nurse residency with these components helps to close the academic-to-practice gap so that hospitals retain safe, competent, and confident nurses who are prepared to continue their professional growth by providing the necessary support new nurses need. A 12-month program beginning with 12+ weeks of intensive blended learning delivered just as the nurse resident is entering the organization, followed by ongoing monthly sessions designed to build upon what the nurse resident is experiencing in clinical practice.
