Course Description

Participants will become familiar with planning considerations for farm, nursery, or homestead design and layout as well as for crop enterprise selection and scheduling. You will explore greenhouse or protected culture of crops and construct a simple greenhouse.  Certificate of Professional Development will be awarded upon successful completion of program requirements.

 SLOs: 

1) Plan and schedule crops to meet production and marketing needs

2) Draft business communications in a professional manner

3) Use labor and other resources efficiently

4) Understand legal requirements of farm businesses

5) Understand economic principles affecting a farm business.

Prerequisites

Completion of Sustainable Production Practices Certificate of Participation.
