Course Description

Kapi‘olani Community College will provide a unique 4 day Intensive Hawaiian Culture and Hula program for the group organized by MMJ on June 16 and June 19, 2015. This Hawaiian culture and Hula program will introduce MMJ students to an in-depth learning of traditional Hula while focusing on the characteristics of Hawaiian culture related to traditional Hula: history, language, and Hawaiian values. This academic and hands-on program will consist of classroom instruction, hands-on training by KCC faculty.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of program, the students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate of dancing one Kahiko (traditional hula)
  2. Distinguish the meaning of dancing hula
