Course Description

Communicating through electronic media presents many unique challenges and opportunities. While incorporating basic research and communication skills, electronic media is a new rhetorical environment, significantly different from print. This course will explore the new style of writing on the World Wide Web and will introduce you to the tools you need to develop an effective Web presence.

Module 6: Introduction to Legal and Ethical Concerns in Multimedia Journalism

This module will cover copyright, ownership, creative commons, libel and slander, privacy, and other hot topics as they relate to legal and ethical concerns. Are you free to manipulate images, audio, and video? Should you allow comments on your blog or website? Enjoy lively discussions as you share your research and discuss issues.
