Course Description

The Certified Hospitality Housekeeping Executive (CHHE®) is the most prestigious certification available to a housekeeping executive.  It identifies the recipient as being part of an elite group of hospitality professionals who have achieved a high level of expertise. Globally recognized, the CHHE® is a highly respected professional credential and is an honor awarded to housekeeping professionals whose leadership and managerial abilities are exemplary. Achieving the CHHE® certification announces you are among the best in your profession, are abreast of current trends and latest hospitality protocols; and serves as leverage in current and future career opportunities. 

You will learn the mechanics of housekeeping operations, including financial and human resource management within a global work environment. As you progress through the weeks, our instructor will help prepare you for the CHHE exam which is scheduled on the last day of the course. 

*Under this program, participants will have until 12/31/2016 to complete the 20-hour program modules and certification exam. Participants must meet certification exam prerequisites and submit an application for the exam.

Course Outline

This 26-hour course covers the following: 

  1. Module 1-Introduction to Housekeeping Operations (10 hours) 
  2. Module 2-Financial Management (10 hours) 
  3. Module 3-Leadership (4 hours) 
  4. Module 4-Human Resources Management (4 hours) 
  5. Proctored Certification Exam (2 hours) 

Learner Outcomes

At the end of this course, the participants will be able to: 

  1. Identify their style of leadership 
  2. Identify facilities management tools, techniques and trends. 
  3. Create a budget by learning to manage inventories and control expenses. 
  4. Identify employee performance improvement techniques to implement in their organization. 
  5. Identify effective communication techniques to implement in their organization. 
  6. Demonstrate the use of motivational strategies to promote teamwork in a global workplace.
