Course Description
Due to the COVID-19 situation, classes may be canceled. Registered participants will be notified via phone or email.
The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC) Hawaii edition is approved for use by the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) for Motorcycle Rider Education. Upon successful completion of the course, qualified students who hold a State of Hawaii Class 2 Permit will be issued a licensing waiver.

Classes are held at the Hawaii Community College-Manono Campus in Hilo *Tuition fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. *Please include your date of birth when registering. *Minimum seat height: 31" *Recommended minimum inseam: 24" REQUIREMENTS 1. Valid Hawaii Motorcycle Permit Class 22. Long sturdy pants, long sleeve shirt or a jacket
3. Full fingered gloves
4. Over-the ankle footwear (hard soles)
5. Eye Protection (example: sunglasses, eyeglasses)
6. Helmet that is D.O.T certified 3/4 or full faced
7. Water
8. Sun Protection
9. Notepad/Pen/Pencil
Prerequisites
STATE OF HAWAII LICENSE HOLDERS: In order to successfully register for this course a valid State of Hawaii category 2 Driver's License Permit is REQUIRED.
OUT-OF-STATE LICENSE HOLDERS: PERMIT NOT REQUIRED.
PARTICIPANTS UNDER AGE 18: Parent or guardian permission is required at first class meeting. A waiver form must be signed prior to class participation. Please contact EDvance at 934-2700 upon enrollment in course to obtain waiver form.
