Course Description

Hawaii's workforce is diverse and differences can lead to miscommunication and negatively impact working relationships. Make a difference in your career by learning to bridge the gap of understanding and communication. This class introduced you to different communication styles and how they are influenced by a variety of factors including culture, generation and gender. 

Course Outline

Total Course Length: 1.5 hours. 

• Session 1: Career Management and Planning (2 hours) 
  • ?Knowledge check based on information presented in free workshop 
  • Brief review of short and long term goals
  • Career Dreams and Wish List 
  • Turn the dreams into action-develop action plan 
  • Homework for Session 2-Bring a draft resume to class 
  • Post-test 

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: 

• Identify how working relationships are influenced by cultural differences. 
• Identify how working relationships are influenced by gender differences. 
• Identify how working relationships are influenced by generational differences.
