INTL3044 - Intensive Emergency Medical Program 2015 for Fukuoka Iken Dental Hygieniest School

Course Description

Kapiolani Community College will provide a unique 4-days Intensive Dental Hygienist Training Program for the participants of Fukuoka Iken Dental Hygienist Training Program for the participants of Fukuoka Iken Dental Hygienist School from November 18 to 21, 2015. This program focuses on dental hygienists education and responsibilities. The students will be introduced general dental care in Hawaii; Dental Hygienist Education including curriculum, requirement and certification, and daily practice and responsibility of dental hygienists in Hawaii. This program is specially designed to help students of Fukuoka Iken Dental Hygienist School on extending their horizons and preparing to work as a dental hygienist with international perspectives. 

Learner Outcomes

By the end of program, the students will be able to: 

1. Identify the difference between the Dental Hygienist education in Hawaii and that in Japan 
2. Compare responsibilities of dental hygienists in Hawaii and that in Japan 
3. Describe importance of professional development as dental hygienist.
