Course Description

Join us on a culinary journey that will introduce you to the exotic flavors of the Middle East. Each class will offer select dishes that are popular from Casablanca to Esfahan. Your teacher will be Chef Magdy Elzoheiry, a native of Alexandria, Egypt. An esteemed KCC culinary graduate, Chef Magdy has worked at several popular restaurants, including Hajibaba and The Pyramids. 

Course Outline

When you think of the Middle East, you think of dry, desert environments, but in reality, most people live near a river or the sea and love to eat fish. Chef Magdy has gathered three of his favorite fish dishes to share with you. We'll be making an amazing swordfish tagine recipe from Morocco, a wonderful almond crusted fish fillet with apple relish from Egypt, and from Morocco/Tunisia, a special bestilla bel hout (savory seafood pie baked in phyllo dough)

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style dishes.
