Course Description

This 2-hour workshop provides students with in-depth instruction on how to properly compose the most common types of everyday business correspondence. In addition to tips for proper formatting, students will learn how to adapt tone, formality, and syntax for each type of document according to purpose and audience. 

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the participants will be able to: 

  • Write memos, letters and email that are adapted to their context, audience(s) and purpose 
  • Adapt the organization of business correspondence to support the specific purpose of the message 
  • Evaluate business messages written by others and make suggestions for improvement; write effective subject lines; correctly format memos, letters and email.
