Course Description

This course will introduce project management terminology and concepts. Organizations use projects for temporary requirements aimed to achieve key deliverables, optimize limited resources and budget, or perform initiatives outside of normal operations. Participants will be prepared with a basic understanding of the project lifecycle, project roles, and importance of the project triple constraints - scope, time, cost. In addition, participants will gain skills to build simple project management tools such as a Project Charter and Work Breakdown Structure.  Each class is 1-day and can accommodate up to 30 students for a flat fee of $2,500.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize and identify projects and project management concepts and tools
  2. Identify and recall project management terminology, project roles, and the project life cycle
  3. Understand and recall the importance of the project triple constraints
  4. Participate in class and group activities to develop project management documents
  5. Identify and recall steps to create a project charter and work breakdown structure
  6. Recall various project types and apply project management approaches and tools appropriately
  7. Identify future opportunities for project management application in their current team / organization
  8. Identify resources for personal / professional growth in a project management career and networking opportunities in project management organizations.
