Course Description

Interested in preparing great tasting healthy food and learning a little about nutrition at the same time? We've prepared a series of great classes with chefs that will expand your culinary repertoire and give insight into eating for wellness.

As a personal chef with over 25 years experience, Alyssa Moreau has made a reputation among her clientele for creating delicious vegetarian meals. As a food lover with a strong interest in healthy diets, Alyssa combines good flavor with good nutrition and practical tips for the home cook. 

Course Outline

Tofu is dull. Tofu is boring. Wrong! Tofu is a blank canvas for you to do your culinary art upon. And culinary artist Alyssa is here to teach you how to combine tangy, zesty flavors with tofu to create wonderful meals! For example, she'll show you how to make marinated tofu with wasabi cream sauce, a black bean salad with cilantro lime tofu creme with chipotle-maple tamari almonds. We'll also make a nutritious and creamy Asian cucumber salad dressing, a tofu "omelet", and then Alyssa will demonstrate how to make a coco-banana frozen dessert "pizza".

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style healthy dishes.
