Course Description

Join us on a culinary journey that will introduce you to the exotic flavors of the Middle East. Each class will offer select dishes that are popular from Casablanca to Esfahan. Your teacher will be Chef Magdy Elzoheiry, a native Alexandria, Egypt. An esteemed KCC culinary graduate, Chef Magdy has worked at several popular local restaurants, including Hajibaba and The Pyramids. 

Course Outline

In this class, Chef Magdy’s menu will delight your eyes, nose, and tongue with wonderful colors, smells and flavors. We’ll start with a simple, but delicious spicy carrot salad. For the side dish, you’ll sauté up some Swiss chard with tahini and Greek yogurt. And for the entrée, a simple but sophisticated dish of roasted eggplant stuffed with spiced ground lamb and beef with pine nuts and fresh herbs

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style Middle Eastern dishes.
