Course Description

Interested in preparing great tasting healthy food and learning a little about nutrition at the same time? We’ve prepared a series of great classes with chefs that will expand your culinary repertoire and give insight into eating for wellness.

As a personal chef for with over 25 years experience, Alyssa Moreau has made a reputation among her clientele for creating delicious vegetarian meals. As a food lover with a strong interest in healthy diets, Alyssa combines good flavor with good nutrition and practical tips for the home cook.

Course Outline

It’s no secret that local people love some rice. A lot of rice. All day, every day. Want to try something new? Alyssa has pulled together some really great and creative rice dishes that you can serve as either a side or main dish. If you’re tired of the same old, same old, come learn a few new tricks! Alyssa will teach you how to make a great versatile version of Indian pulao (basmati rice with spices and veggies), an Indonesian gado gado rice bowl (veggies and tofu or tempeh in a spicy peanut sauce), a Mediterranean rice dish with spinach, artichokes, mushrooms, feta cheese and dill, and finally, a Thai-style rice salad

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce style healthy dishes.
