Course Description

Interested in preparing great tasting healthy food and learning a little about nutrition at the same time? We've prepared a series of great classes with chefs that will expand your culinary repertoire and give insight into eating for wellness. 

As a personal chef for with over 25 years experience, Alyssa Moreau has made a reputation among her clientele delicious vegetarian meals. As a food lover with a strong interest in healthy diets, Alyssa combines good flavor with good nutrition and practical tips for the home cook. 

Course Outline

If you're on a gluten-free diet, finding good tasting food for sale is tough. Although there are lots more options available, it seems the manufacturers were in such a hurry to get their products to market, they left out the flavor and texture. Alyssa (who is on a gluten-free diet herself), has spent a lot of time working on recipes for herself and her clients and they're really good! She'll teach you how to make a great millet-quinoa bread that she swears by, a delicious gluten-free entrée --- shepherd's pie made with sweet potatoes and a little horseradish for a subtle kick, apricot-date snack bars, and Alyssa will demonstrate her favorite gluten-free pancake recipe! 

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn to interpret recipes and use standard kitchen tools and cooking techniques to produce home style healthy dishes.
