Course Description

In this class, we will develop a sense of visual articulation by exploring various media and techniques including line work, pencil drawing, ink, watercolor, and collage.  Each class will begin with a short presentation on important art movements/artistic innovators to help inform and inspire the studio work.  Students will leave with a greater understanding of their own artistic voice and vision, as well as a more developed visual technique and media vocabulary. 

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion you should be able to:

1).  Understand the visual elements and how to use them

2).  Learn various types of art media

3).  Connect with your personal artistic style and voice

4).  Learn Art vocabulary and important Art movements in history

 

 

Notes

The following supplies are needed for the course.  You do not need to purchase the supplies if you already have the supplies.  Supplies:  Pad of Bristol art paper, set of drawing pencils, set of watercolor paints, 1 paint brush, 1 Kneaded erasure, scissors, and a glue stick.
