Course Description

Gain an understanding of the fundamentals of systems thinking to recognize the interconnectedness of people, environment and processes for effective organizational leadership. Explore the seven core concepts of sustainability including sustainable economics, ecosystem services, ecological footprint, waste reduction, carbon neutrality, local first, and adaptive resilience. Learn leadership strategies to build resiliency and sustainability into your organization’s operational and facilities processes.

Designed for managers, engineers, and aspiring leaders, teams are also encouraged to participate in this course to learn how to apply sustainability principals in their organization to effect change.

Section Notes

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we will be offering this course live ONLINE via Zoom on April 16-17 with instructor Jennifer Chirico from Maui. We welcome participants from all Hawaii locations to join us in this unique online workshop sponsored by Hawaii Energy. 

Attendees are required to have a computer with audio, video and reliable Internet (also recommended: headset or earbuds) to join the course. The Zoom link and course materials will be sent to registered participants in advance.
